The figures include not only hams but general population in 2005. JA1 is the most densely populated area. It is amazing nearly one third of people are there. This tells you how easy to make contacts with some areas (ex. JA1) and how difficult to do with other area (ex. JA9). One out of three contacts with JA may be with JA1 station.
